Would your child like to become a ‘Day Boarder’ at SJCPS?
Day Boarding: 8.00am ~ 6.00pm Ref: Before-School and After-School Care We are delighted to offer you a ‘Before-School and After-School Care’ facility at St Joseph’s. We sent out a survey to each family at SJCPS, and the results told us that there is a need for this provision. Its continuation will always, of course, depend on the number of pupils requiring the facility. It would only continue to be viable if a minimum number of about twenty pupils were to use the programmes, but judging by the current attendance which is well in excess of twenty, both facilities are very well used and the signs for them to continue are very encouraging! Breakfast Club: Breakfast Club runs every morning Monday – Friday, term time only, from 8.00am until the start of school at 8.45am. The breakfast provided includes a range of cereals; toast, butter and spreads; yoghurt/fruit and a drink (eg: Fruit Juice: March – September and Hot Chocolate: October – February). The children are of course, fully supervised throughout this time. Fee: £3.00 per child per session After-School Club: After School Club runs every afternoon Monday – Friday, term time only, from 3.30pm/3.40pm – 6.00pm. An outline programme is as follows: 3.30 – 3.45 Light Refreshments (Drink and Biscuit): Play/Relaxation time 3.45 – 4.30 Choice of Clubs and Activities offered by the teaching staff* 4.30 – 5.00 Devised programme of age appropriate activities. Quiet homework area provided 5.00 – 5.30 Supper 5.30 – 6.00 Quiet reading, Construction Toys, Board Games ~ whilst waiting for collection * These clubs may vary from term to term according to the choice of the teacherFee: £7.50 per child per session Parents may choose any number of ‘Before-School and After-School’ sessions on any day/s of their choice but they MUST remain the same, each week, for the whole of the term. NB: The ‘Breakfast Club’ and the After-School Clubs will start on the first day of each term. There will be NO ‘After-School Club’ on the last day of each term. There will, however, be ‘Breakfast Club’ on the last day of each term. Currently, we are unable to allow parents to subscribe on a day-to-day basis, as this may affect the staff: pupil ratios required. However enquiries can be considered, subject to availability on the day, but no guarantee of a place can be given. You may, of course, review your requirements, each term. ‘Breakfast Club’ and ‘After-School Club’ fees will appear on your termly account. They must be paid before the start of the term in which you wish to benefit from this facility. A term’s notice in writing is required if you wish to discontinue your child’s attendance at the ‘Breakfast’ or ‘After-School’ Clubs. Unfortunately, we now have to levy a fee of £10 for ‘late pick ups’ to cover the extra supervision costs incurred. This will appear on your following account. If you wish to enrol your child/ren into the ‘Before School’ and/or ‘After School’ Clubs for next term, please complete this form day_boarder_form and return it to Mrs McInerney, the School Secretary.
