Forest School
Pupils from our Prep-Prep and Reception classes have been enjoying their first Forest School session at Shorne Woods Country Park this term.
The lessons have been introduced as part of our commitment to continuously looking at ways to improve and strengthen the education we deliver to the children in our Early Years setting.
At the session, pupils were met by a park ranger who took them to a especially dedicated to Forest School area in the woods. Once there, the children spent time exploring their surroundings, using their imaginations in the mud kitchen and enjoying a delicious hot chocolate around the camp fire.
Forest School is a long-term sustainable approach to outdoor learning. It builds self-esteem and independence in children and young people though the exploration of, and experiences in the natural world.
The children are all eagerly counting down the days until their next visit.
