Land Ahoy Immersion Day
Year 2 had a chance to try out life as a pirate this week for their “Land Ahoy” Immersion Day. They learnt some sea shanties, visited the Pocahontas statue and the River Thames. The children dressed up like pirates for the day and looked at the different boats on the river and learnt the eight points on a compass.
Immersion days are where children will spend a whole day learning about a certain topic, often dressing up and experiencing it in lots of detail. It helps to introduce new topics in a fun way.
