School Trip to Convent of Mercy
On Monday, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 visited the Convent of Mercy and was welcomed by Sister Anne and Sister Helen. Sister Anne explained about all the good works that she carries out in our community such as providing shelter for homeless people, feeding them and helping them to get jobs. Also, she visits people in prison and spends time with them to show that she cares; it is a way of aiding their spiritual journey so that they stay on the right path.
We took a walk around the beautiful grounds and were in awe of God’s creation by looking at the amazing trees. It took twenty one children to fit around the trunk of the oldest tree! Finally, we visited the grotto dedicated to Our Lady and sang Hail Mary to praise her.
We also prayed for all the people who need our prayers to get better physically and mentally.
